Our vision.
Help people close the gap between the life they are living and the life they actually intend.
Steven Robert Young is building a connected platform for deliberate living. Its foundation is original work developed over twenty years: IDEAL, the process for living intentionally, and Meaningful, the daily practice that sustains it.
Make deliberate living practical.
Many people already know which conversations they have deferred, which directions they have never claimed, and which fears quietly steer their decisions. The life assembled from available opportunities and reasonable next steps keeps running on its own.
The Meaningful Project brings examination into daily use. Name what is true. Choose a concrete direction. Act before the day ends. Weekly review and deeper examination keep the practice connected to what matters.
Failure is part of the work. The measure is the reliability of return.
How the parts fit.
Content
Articles, books, and conversations make the ideas understandable and useful, and give people a way to follow the work as it develops.
Read on Substack ↗A daily practice app
The app is being developed as the primary tool for naming what is true, setting a direction, and reviewing the day. The aim is a practice people can return to after interruptions and failures.
Learning
Books and planned courses deepen the frameworks and their application. The long-term aim is to make the work useful in personal life, leadership, and organizations.
Explore Meaningful, the book →Community
People learn with and from others working at the same discipline. The vision is a community grounded in shared practice and experience.
Events
Speaking, intimate gatherings, and, over time, an annual Meaningful Summit are part of the long-term vision: bringing the practice, teaching, and community together.
A vision with work still to do.
The app is in development. Courses, a wider community, and gatherings are part of the longer-term vision; they are not presented here as available services. They share one purpose: a clear process for examining a life and a daily practice for acting on what that examination reveals.
The tools exist to make that work usable across ages, professions, and cultures—one honest day at a time.
